What is GymsAdvisor?

GymsAdvisor is a platform that helps people discover gyms, compare facilities, and share their experiences.

We aim to make it easier for people to find the right gym while helping gym owners showcase their facilities to potential members.

For Gym Users

With GymsAdvisor, you can:

  • Search for gyms using filters to match your specific needs
  • View detailed gym information and facilities
  • Save gyms for quick access later
  • Leave reviews and share your experiences

You can browse and search for gyms without an account, but creating an account allows you to save gyms and leave reviews.

For Gym Owners

  • Add a new gym listing
  • Claim an existing gym listing
  • Edit and update your gym information
  • Respond to customer reviews

Do I need an account?

No, you do not need an account to browse or search for gyms on GymsAdvisor.

Anyone can use the platform to discover gyms, view gym details, and explore facilities without signing in.

However, creating a free account allows you to access additional features.

With an account, you can:

  • Save your favourite gyms for quick access
  • Edit your profile
  • Leave reviews based on your experiences and view responses from Gyms

How do I create account?

Creating a GymsAdvisor account allows you to access additional features depending on the type of account you choose.

Gym Users can save gyms, leave reviews, and manage their activity on the platform.

Gym Owners can add a gym listing, claim an existing listing, update their gym information, and respond to customer reviews.

You can create an account either on the GymsAdvisor website or through the mobile app.

On the GymsAdvisor website

  • Click Sign Up
  • Select which account applies to you: Gym User or Gym Owner
  • Follow the sign-up steps
  • Choose to Continue with Google or create an account using your email address

On the GymsAdvisor app

  • Tap Profile
  • Select which account applies to you: Gym User or Gym Owner
  • Tap Sign Up
  • Follow the steps to create your account

Creating an account is free and only takes a few moments.

If you experience any issues creating your account, please contact support.

How do I reset password?

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it using the Forgot Password option on the login page.

On the GymsAdvisor website

  • Go to the Login page
  • Click Forgot Password
  • Enter the email address associated with your account
  • Follow the instructions in the password reset email
  • Create a new password and log in to your account

On the GymsAdvisor app

  • Open the Login screen
  • Tap Forgot Password
  • Enter the email address associated with your account
  • Follow the instructions in the password reset email
  • Create a new password and log in to your account

If you do not receive the password reset email, please check your spam or junk folder.

How do I save a gym

Saving a gym allows you to quickly find it again later. This is useful if you are comparing gyms or planning to visit one in the future.

You must be logged in to your Gym User account to save gyms.

On the GymsAdvisor website

  • Log in to your Gym User account
  • Open the gym listing you would like to save
  • Click the Bookmark icon on the gym listing
  • The gym will be added to your saved gyms
  • To view your saved gyms, navigate to Dashboard and select Saved Gyms

On the GymsAdvisor app

  • Log in to your Gym User account
  • Open the gym listing you would like to save
  • Tap Save Gym
  • The gym will be added to your saved gyms
  • To view your saved gyms, navigate to Profile and select Saved Gyms

Removing a saved gym

To remove a gym from your saved list, simply open the gym listing and tap or click the Save option again.

How do I leave a review?

Leaving a review allows you to share your experience and help others choose the right gym. Your feedback also helps gym owners understand what they are doing well and where they can improve.

You must be logged in to your Gym User account to leave a review.

On the GymsAdvisor website

  • Log in to your Gym User account
  • Search for and open the gym listing you want to review
  • Navigate to the Reviews section
  • Click Write a Review
  • Select your ratings and write your review
  • Click Submit Review
  • You can also delete your review on the Gym’s page, or via Reviews & Ratings in your Dashboard

On the GymsAdvisor app

  • Log in to your Gym User account
  • Search for and open the gym listing you want to review
  • Tap See Reviews
  • Tap Write Review
  • Select your ratings and write your review
  • Tap Submit Review
  • You can also delete your review on the Gym’s page, or via Reviews & Ratings in the Profile tab

Rate how clean and well-maintained the gym and its facilities are.

Customer Service

Rate your experience with gym staff, including helpfulness, professionalism, and support.

Community

Rate the sense of community within the gym, including how friendly and supportive other members are.

Can a gym remove my review

No. Gym owners cannot remove reviews from their gym listing.

GymsAdvisor is designed to provide honest and transparent feedback from users. This means reviews cannot be removed simply because a gym disagrees with the feedback.

When can a review be removed?

A review may be removed by the GymsAdvisor moderation team if it violates our review guidelines.

How do I add my gym to GymsAdvisor?

Gym owners can submit their gym to GymsAdvisor to make it visible to people searching for gyms across the United Kingdom.

Submitting a gym allows potential members to discover your facility, view details about your gym, and leave reviews.

All new gym submissions are reviewed before being published on the platform.

On the GymsAdvisor website

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Request Gym
  • Click Add Gym Request
  • Fill out the required information about your gym
  • Click Create Gym

On the GymsAdvisor app

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Request New Gym
  • Fill out the required information about your gym
  • Tap Submit Request

What happens after submitting a gym?

Once your request is submitted, the GymsAdvisor team will review the information before approving the listing.

You can track the progress of your submission at any time.

On the website
  • Click Request Gym
  • View your requests under the Pending, Approved, and Rejected tabs
On the app
  • Tap My Requested Gyms
  • View your requests under the Pending, Approved, and Rejected tabs

If approved, your gym will become visible on GymsAdvisor.

How do I claim an existing gym listing?

If your gym is already listed on GymsAdvisor, you can submit a claim request to take ownership of the listing.

Claiming a gym allows you to manage and update the information displayed on the listing, including gym details, facilities, photos, and responses to customer reviews.

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Claim Gym
  • Search for your gym
  • Click Claim on the listing
  • Complete the required information to validate your request and provide proof that you are the owner or authorised to manage the gym
  • Click Submit Claim

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Claim Gym
  • Search for your gym
  • Tap Claim on the listing
  • Complete the required information to validate your request and provide proof that you are the owner or authorised to manage the gym

How do I edit my gym listing?

Gym owners can update their gym listing at any time to ensure the information displayed on GymsAdvisor remains accurate and up to date.

Editing your listing allows you to update details such as your gym description, facilities, opening hours, contact information, and other listing information.

You must have created or successfully claimed the gym listing and be logged in to your Gym Owner account to edit it.

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Dashboard
  • Select My Gyms
  • Click the Edit Gym pencil icon
  • Update the information you would like to change
  • Click Update Changes

On the GymsAdvisor app

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to My Gyms
  • Select the gym you would like to manage
  • Tap Edit Gym
  • Update the information you would like to change
  • Tap Save Changes

How do I respond to reviews?

Gym owners can respond to reviews left on their gym listing. Responding to reviews is a great way to engage with members, thank users for positive feedback, and address any concerns raised in reviews.

You must have claimed or created the gym listing and be logged in to your Gym Owner account to respond to reviews.

On the GymsAdvisor website

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Reviews and Ratings
  • Select the Not Replied tab
  • Choose the review you would like to respond to
  • Click Reply, write your response, and click Send Reply
  • You can view all of your responses under the Replied tab

On the GymsAdvisor app

  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Gym Reviews
  • Select the Not Replied tab
  • Tap Reply on the review you would like to respond to
  • Write your response and tap Submit Reply
  • You can view all of your responses under the Replied tab

Why is my gym listing not visible yet?

If you have recently submitted a gym or updated your gym listing, it may not appear immediately on GymsAdvisor.

All gym submissions and some listing updates are reviewed before they are published on the platform. This helps ensure the information on GymsAdvisor remains accurate and reliable for users.

Checking the status of your gym request

You can check the status of your gym submission at any time.

On the website
  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Navigate to Request Gym
  • View the status under the Pending, Approved, or Rejected tabs
On the app
  • Log in to your Gym Owner account
  • Tap My Requested Gyms
  • View the status under the Pending, Approved, or Rejected tabs

What the status means

Pending

Your request is currently being reviewed by the GymsAdvisor team.

Approved

Your gym has been approved and is now visible on GymsAdvisor.

Rejected

Your submission did not meet the listing requirements.

Why was my gym request or claim rejected?

Gym requests and claim requests are reviewed by the GymsAdvisor team before they are approved. If a request does not meet our requirements, it may be rejected.

Common reasons a gym request may be rejected

Your gym submission may be rejected if:

  • Incomplete or inaccurate information

    The information provided about the gym is missing important details or appears incorrect.

  • Duplicate listings

    The gym may already exist on GymsAdvisor.

  • The gym does not meet listing criteria

    GymsAdvisor currently focuses on gyms located in the United Kingdom.

  • Unable to verify the gym

    We may not be able to confirm the gym’s details based on the information provided.

Common reasons a claim request may be rejected

Your claim request may be rejected if:

  • Insufficient proof of ownership or authorisation

    We could not verify that you are the owner or authorised to manage the gym listing.

  • Incorrect gym selected

    The claim request may have been submitted for the wrong gym.

  • Information provided could not be verified

    The details provided did not match the information associated with the gym.

Can I submit another request?

Yes. If your request was rejected, you can submit a new gym request or claim request with updated or corrected information.

Providing accurate and complete information will help ensure your request can be reviewed successfully.

How do I report incorrect gym information?

If you notice incorrect or outdated information on a gym listing, you can report it so the GymsAdvisor team can review and update the details if necessary.

Keeping gym information accurate helps ensure users can rely on the information provided on GymsAdvisor.

  • Click Submit Report

Why was my review removed?

To keep GymsAdvisor helpful and trustworthy for everyone, reviews must follow our review guidelines. If a review does not meet these guidelines, it may be removed by our moderation team.

Common reasons a review may be removed

Your review may be removed if it includes:

  • Offensive or abusive language

    Reviews that contain hate speech, harassment, or inappropriate language.

  • Personal attacks

    Content that targets individuals rather than reviewing the gym experience.

  • Spam or promotional content

    Reviews that promote businesses, products, or services unrelated to the gym.

  • False or misleading information

    Reviews that appear intentionally misleading or dishonest.

  • Reviews not based on a genuine experience

    Reviews should reflect real experiences at the gym.

If you believe a review violates the guidelines, you can report it. Reported reviews are brought to the attention of a GymsAdvisor administrator for review.

Our team will assess the report and take action if the review does not comply with our guidelines.

Can I submit another review?

If your review was removed because it did not follow the guidelines, you are welcome to submit another review that follows our review standards.

Make sure your review focuses on your experience with the gym and remains respectful.

How do I delete my GymsAdvisor account?

If you no longer wish to use GymsAdvisor, you can delete your account from your account settings.

Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile and associated data from the platform. This action cannot be undone.
